Live from the Kindle DX Launch
That the biggest question is in it? First of all publishers are not the only one in the book industry getting a cut off the sale of a regular paper book you have the printer, the paper mills, the ink supliers and the transport and shipping compagny to name a few.
So the cost of producing and distributing an ebook is by definition lower. You don't need to print it you don't to ship it and you sure has hell don't need the warehouses and book stores to hold and sell the damn thing. Well Amazon does need servers for the wispernet and the online store but that it. In the long run if the ebook take off it not going to be publishers who are going to get hurt first it the print industry!
