It not the PC that in danger it the high end laptop form factor that going to get swallowed by Netbook and cheap laptop on the lower end and IPad and tablet on the the high end. Not to mention Chrome OS powered laptop and Netbook who are around the corner. It a crowded market.
The amazing thing is that Best Buy is still around I have not bought anything electronic on a physical store in years! Am predicting that desktop PC will outlast Best Buy now the overpriced laptop on the other hand might not last long.
