Just out of curiosity legally if you leave the money in how long can you wait before saying fuck it if the bank did not repair the mistake? I do a lot of contracting and my usual clients almost all work with direct deposit and some week I have a hard time keeping track of what is what until I take a look at the invoices! So unless my bank make a really huge mistake down or up I might not even notice it.
