Canada Post just locked out their urban postal workers after 12 days of rotating strike and almost everybody who is not expecting some cash in the mail soon just don't care. That 2011 for you all our bills can be paid online the paycheck is sent to the bank electronically and I have not licked a stamp in... Shit it been years!
I think it time we have a serious conversation as a country about snail mail.
a) Why do we need to run a public postal corporation? Seriously aside from a few bills what did you got in the mail lately except publicity! And by the way it a bad marketing medium because let face it 99% of us just throw all that crap in the bin by the mail box.
b) Why is it so cheap to send a letter? I rather pay three time the postage rate and not be inundated with SPAM. If a piece of paper is so important that you can't send an Email it worth the rate for a service that SPAM free.
c) Why do we need the "Postal dude*" to pass every day?
The mail three times a week does not sound too bad either. Monday, Wednesday, Friday with no advertisement to lighten the work load. We get less service but we know that when we open the box it not to sort trash mail.
Do we need Canada Post to be Canada biggest spammer? Hell no! All am saying is the sooner this mess is over the less likely that the few Canadian who still use their service wont just move on.
